A Distinguished Naval Career
Born and raised in the coastal city of Corpus Christi, Texas, Donaven James developed a passion for service and discipline from a young age. Since enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 2016, Donaven has proven himself as a dedicated serviceman, completing three deployments. His remarkable skill and commitment led him to earn a prestigious position on the U.S. Navy’s Marksmanship Action Shooting Team. This elite group represents the Navy in competitions while also training fellow sailors in small arms skills, contributing to the force’s overall lethality.
A Legacy of Training and Family Commitment
Throughout his career Donaven has trained hundreds of sailors, from security forces to special forces in essential marksmanship techniques. In early 2025, he transitioned to the naval reserves to devote more time to his family while still actively participating with the marksmanship team as a reservist. Donaven continues to compete whenever possible, showcasing his skills and dedication to his craft.
